Supporting medical service and promoting coordinated post-operative care.
Spina Bifida, spinal cord injury, and hydrocephalus
(excess cerebrospinal fluid accumulation in the head) is a medical condition that occurs during early pregnancy days. It’s claiming the lives of too many children or leaving them permanently disabled due to lack of awareness of the general public and limited availability of the treatment. Though the condition could be treated early most of these children do not reach the age of five in our country's context. Therefore, multidisciplinary care is needed to help them be productive members of society.
Ethiopia is a country where the prevalence of Spina Bifida
and Hydrocephalus is low and where children living with the condition get maximal support to be productive and happy members of the community.
